It all began with handmade draperies, sewn at home by Al Hernandez's grandmother, mother, and aunt — while his father handled the installations. That foundation of family, quality, and care became the bedrock of AIH.
Al learned the trade working alongside his father for years before establishing his own business in 1972. With his wife Tammy managing the books and raising their two sons, AIH grew from a small family operation into Sarasota's most trusted name in window treatments.
In 2018, Al passed the legacy to his son Jeff, who carries forward the same unwavering commitment to quality and personal service that has defined AIH for over 50 years.
